IPEDS
IPEDS, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, is managed by the U.S. Department of Education and requires reporting from all postsecondary institutions. For more information, visit the IPEDS website or the Association for Institutional Research AIR IPEDS site. To generate IPEDS Data Feedback Reports for other institutions, navigate to the IPEDS site, select "Evaluate Data and Statistics," and use the "Executive Peer Tool".
Additional resources on IPEDS are available, including a detailed overview of IPEDS surveys (PDF), statutory requirements, and survey items. Guidance on implementing IPEDS rules (PDF) for the collection, storage, and reporting of race and ethnicity data is also provided. For further context, explore the list of AAU public peers, linked to their respective institutional research offices.
CU Boulder’s IPEDS ID number is 126614.
SURDS
In May 1985, the Commission on Higher Education introduced the Student Unit Record Data System (SURDS) to establish statewide admission standards. Approved later that year, SURDS facilitates data collection from Colorado institutions on areas such as enrollment, applicants, degrees, financial aid, and more. For additional details, visit the Colorado Department of Higher Education’s website.
